
'My work explores the way we look at the world and ourselves, as well as what we dream about and how we view our past. I try to confront the transitions of everyday life that none of us can escape. Questioning the nature of change also questions the essence of being.'
Laila Kolostyák studied art in Norway, Great
Britain and the Netherlands. Many of her artworks draw attention to
environmental issues. Since returning to Lapland ice has been one
of her preferred materials. She often involves other artists, musicians,
architects and entrepeneurs in her projects. In recent years she has
completed several film projects and taken up drawing.
